FABSPEED CARBON FIBER COMPETITION INTAKE SYSTEM for 2005-08 PORSCHE 997 CARRERA

Improves cold air induction into the engine and improves power and sound throughout the rev range; constructed with genuine carbon fiber for strength and durability. Improves power by 19 whp and 21 ft-lbs of torque at 7000rpm. Includes dual dry-style air filters which do not require oiling; filter wash kit available separately.

Intake constructed from genuine carbon fiber. Direct bolt-on replacement for the factory air box. NOTE: Optional GT3 Throttle Body Adapter only required for vehicles that have been upgraded to the 997. The quality of this product is good craftsmanship, worth what you pay for. Finally this weekend I managed to install the air intake.

Sound : Definitively a noticeable change, not so much in low revs, but around 4500 rpm and up, when accelerating the sound is more... In music terms I would say it has more "bass". As a test, I didn't tell my son anything about the Fabspeed intake, and he didn't know it was installed, but as soon as we hit the road and I accelerated, he immediately noticed something was different and he prefers the new sound. Power increase : As I didn't go through the trouble to dyno the car before/after, I can't comment on this HP or TQ gain, but I'll take your word for it :- After all, a 997.2 4S has 385 HP with 420 Nm, so a +16 WHP represents a 4% increase. Although impressive in numbers, with sport mode or sport+ mode on, it would be very difficult to feel the difference.

Overall comment : Sound is definitively more aggressive in high RPM, performance probably a bit better and the air intake certainly looks fantastic when I open the engine cover!! Very pleased with the look and sound of this easy to install add-on. If you're looking for great sound and a seat of the pants faster feel, this is the one! Breaths like a BEAST and she sounds amazing. 997 4S - Power is found right away, breaths way better, installed with evo chip and its not the same car anymore, also installed bypass pipes but had to take them off as they are way too loud for city use, took forty minutes before i got pulled over by a good looking blond haired police officer, got no ticket but got a warning that i sounded very fast.. For racers out there the bypass is great for the track. Just installed my new intake with my friend, and couldn't be happier with the new sound and power!! The engine literally howls and barks over 4500 rpm.

I now drive in the upper rev range and keep my windows and targa roof open to enjoy the sound. Fantastic value, will be looking for more upgrades from Fabspeed. 997 competition intake - EXCELLENT. My girlfriend was with me when I opened the box to this stunningly beautiful "lampshade" well at least that's what she initially thought it was! I laughed but then continued to explain to her that it was a performance intake for my 997 carrera lol I now like to refer to this as my "competition lampshade", that makes my engine roar and breathe with ease.

These along with my fabspeed straight pipes and dual black fabspeed exhaust tip seriously have transformed my car. These are beautiful parts and the result in Hp and torque gain is just perfect for me. Open the box and the air intake lock amazing. Afrer one hour it was installed. And it was like a new car faster and louder just like I want it.

Genuine Porsche Race Car Sound. This simple addition to your 911 will dramatically change how enjoyable it is to drive you car and rev out the engine! I did not expect this to improve the sound of the car, and it only changes it when you go deep into the throttle which is nice for cruising. Great Upgrade for My 997S Porsche.

The product is exactly as described. Perfect fit, looks outstanding and the sound is great under acceleration especially when I go over 5,000 RPM where I also notice significant power increase. Friends asked what I did to my exhaust.

I told them it is still stock, it is all induction sound from my Fabspeed air intake. Received the intake today and it arrived in great time for the weekend cruise. Opened the box and everything was package perfectly. The craftsmanship on all the parts was outstanding. Honestly never seen so much care taken in the creation of a part. Let's skip to the post-install run. Just like everyone else stated. When it gets in that upper range it sounds super aggressive. But in a great way!

Sounds like I did something to my exhaust more than anything else. Has a great "race car" sound. Need to give a touch more gas coming out of first because it bogs down a bit but overall the throttle response has improved and once the ECU adjusts I'm sure the power will be readily available. I looked up the instructions just for some fill-in reference as pulling out an air box is a simple task.

Long story short, the whole install took about 30 minutes. Probably could have been quicker had I not been taking pictures and goofing off. Also, the tamper proof torx bit is a T-20 or 25 I believe. I'm not pulling out my tools to look but the T-10 is far too small. After you install everything, grab a black zip-tie and slide it under the left intake tube clamp.

Tighten the clamp down all the way and then zip it around your oil fill tube. It'll keep it nicely in place and won't bounce around and you can barely tell a zip-tie is there. I'm looking into modifying the fill tube so it will be shorter and have a housing with a cap that will lock in and sit flush with the cutout in the partition.

Should clean it up nicely. Just a thought for anyone else wondering what to do with that piece.
